Tony was born in Concord to Robert and Florence Marden on September 29, 1939.
For almost 50 years, Tony was married to Sally Marden who passed December 5, 2016.
Tony graduated from Concord High School in 1957. Shortly thereafter, Tony started working for Patsy’s Auto Body where he worked very hard his whole career spanning just shy of 60 years. His passion for cars and hotrods throughout his entire life was undeniable. He raced at Bryar Motorsports Park during the 1960’s and 1970’s. From time to time, He also enjoyed drag racing at New England Dragway. In his earlier years, he could not wait for winter and snowmobiling with the gang.
Tony and Sally enjoyed their monthly trips to Foxwoods casino. Tony enjoyed buying scratch tickets as well, always looking for the “big one”. He loved to take rides to the NH lakes region, especially Meredith. Tony was larger than life; everybody seemed to know him. He had a talent to fix anything and was everyone’s “go to guy” for help. Fishing was a pastime that Tony often enjoyed. His favorite restaurant was Veanos II in Concord and visiting with the owner George Georgopoulos where he would eat dinner nightly.
Tony leaves behind three children, Diane Brown, her husband Billy and their children, Brandon, Alissa, Tasha, Bryan, and Wilby; Anthony “Tony” Marden, Jr. and his children, Tyler, Curtis and Peyton; and Sherry Marden Upton, husband Jim and their son, Trevor known to many as “firecracker” as Tony nicknamed him. In addition to his children, three brothers, Richard Marden, Douglas Marden, and Allan Marden survive Tony. Tony also leaves behind many family and friends who he loved very much.
A special thank you to Tom Corson for being a very best friend to Tony until the very end and to the Inn of Deerfield in Deerfield N.H. for the exceptional care and love for Tony for the last few years.
