Caren had a wonderful infectious laugh and smile, always a pleasure to be around and greeted you with spirited cordiality.   She was an adventurer, she and Jeff travelled around the world, free spirits.  She was ready to initiate and join in on festivities with friends and family, at the beach, ocean, or clubbing.  I admired Caren for being an avid reader, her book collection filled the numerous book shelves in her home.   She and Jeff did a terrific job fixing their house in Concord and had dreams of building a new house on their lake front property.  I will miss her laugh and smile and always think of her kindly.

Caren was a friend like no other to me.  We shared many similar childhood experiences.  She grew up on Long Island and had many fond memories of collecting crabs with her brother, working at the family's farmstand, and sweet times with each of her parents.  Similarly, parts of my childhood were spent on Long Island Sound in Connecticut, and I would go scalloping with my father, and later go clam digging with him as well on the South Shore of Massachusetts.  I also lived on a farm in my early childhood.  I was only half Polish, on my father's side, but we'd reminisce about the impact our ancestral heritages had on us, the values with which we were molded because of our parentage and the times.  We were two years apart in age.

When I mop now, I miss her.  More than once we'd touch base when I'd take a break from housework and my socks would be wet from the kitchen floor.  Last year at Christmas time when she was first hospitalized, we texted all hours of the night.  I so loved her spirit as she confronted this particular challenge, the way she would be so honest about each thing with which she had to contend, the ways she'd bubble back up to the surface and look at positive aspects and her many blessings, Jeff being the chief one.  I have many other loved ones who fall apart over relatively minor problems in their lives compared to the discomforts and medical mysteries Caren faced daily.  The contrast was just immeasurable, and she always left me feeling richer for the time we spent in conversation together.

No one will ever be her equal when it comes to the depth and enjoyment of a relationship with another gal friend.  We were just so simpatico.  I am pleased to think of where she is now and look forward to the day I get to see her again.   I still love her so.  Love never fails.  All those other things will cease (1 Corinthians 13), but not love.  Love you, Caren!!

And Jeff, I am so sorry for your loss, but love the way you loved her.  It gives me great comfort 

I am so sorry Jeff for you loss. Caren was such a vivacious and adventurous woman that I admired greatly, she captured the conversations in the salon talking about your travels and foodie experiences, her positive outlook on any challenge never faltered. So happy for you when you acquired the property at the lake, she loved it there! We were so happy when you dropped by to visit in Florida after I retired, and so sorry to hear she became ill.I am so glad she enjoyed the lake with all your lovely neighbors like Patty and John. I know the love of the lake for Caren, I hope that the peace she is experiencing with the lord is just that for her. Rest In Peace Caren, we will all miss you.

Caren was full of life, loved travel, could converse about anything, was very caring and a good friend. I worked with Caren, traveled with Caren and spent time at each other’s homes. Loved her sense of adventure and creative humor. Her gusto and thoughtfulness were traits I admired. We spent many hours sharing stories and trying to figure out the mysteries of life together. Grateful for the time I was able to spend with her this last year. Thank you Caren.   Our condolences to Jeff and her family, who are in our thoughts.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Caren's passing. I worked with her for several years at A&B Typesetters. She was a wonderful, funny, kind person. I hadn't seen her for many years but I have many happy memories of her. I was happy to learn she had a husband who loved her dearly. My deepest sympathy to you, Jeffery.

Caren was a real dynamo .... lots of personality, smiling, organizer, and a friendly neighbor at Jenness Pond. EG .... last year she tirelessly organized for all of us on White Road ... to have 20 trees taken down. She contacted companies and individuals to do the work ... helped us select the best and oversaw the actual work. She worked through a lot of challenges to make this happen ... and all with a positive attitude.  Caren ... you'll be missed.

We got to know Caren after she bought property on Jenness Pond.  Caren and Jeff loved the pond and being down by the water. This  past summer we enjoyed some time together out on the pond on our pontoon boat.  And this is how we choose to always remember her- Caren’s bright smile,  a sunny day, and us all relaxing sharing good times together.  We will miss you Caren!
