
Dorothy W. Hall, 85, passed away on January 14, 2016 after a brief illness, at the Harris Hill Center of Concord. She was born August 4, 1930, the daughter of Oscar and Rachel (Smith) White and grew up in Haverhill, NH. After graduating from Haverhill Academy in 1948, she moved to Manchester where she worked for America Fidelity Insurance and married her high school sweetheart, Herbert, in 1949. She lived for several years in Amarillo, TX while he served in the US Air Force and then settled in Concord where they have lived for over 60 years.
Dorothy was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie Leader, and Neighborhood Chairman of the Swiftwater Council for several years in the 1960’s. She also served as Vice President of the Merrimack County Extension Group and was a member of the McKenney Group and Women’s Guild of the First Congregational Church. She became an Avon Representative in 1978 and sold their products until 1993. She enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, spending summers at her family vacation home on Little Squam Lake, spending time with extended family, and rescuing many less fortunate felines at the local SPCA.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Herbert W. Hall, brothers Donald and John White, and John Pollock, and sister, Patricia Ingerson.
She is survived by her son, Donald Hall, and her daughters, Debra Dudley, Diane Abbott-Davis and Dorothy Bronson, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held in the Spring.
