Born 7 January 1927 in North Woodstock, NH, she was the daughter of Harvey and Laura Kinne. She attended Woodstock School and graduated in June of 1944 where she achieved perfect attendance for all 12 years.
She went into a nursing under the US Cadet Nurse Corps program and was able to attend the Margaret Pillsbury Hospital School of Nursing in Concord, NH. During that time Margaret Pillsbury Hospital and Concord Memorial Hospital merged and because Concord Hospital, so she graduated from Concord Hospital. However, all the students from Margaret Pillsbury were allowed to wear their own caps at graduation.
On 3 July 1948, Edna married Leigh M. Woodman of Concord at the United Baptist Church in Concord, NH. They made their home in Concord until 1976 when they moved to Bow, NH. After living in Bow for 30 years, they moved to Loudon, NH. When Leigh passed, Edna moved back to Concord.
After Edna’s nursing career, she was employed at Sprague Electric in Concord for 11 years and she then went on to retire from the Village House Real Estate in Concord. She was a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a 72 year member of the United Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was the church collector.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leigh, her parents, a sister, Ella Kinne Berry and two brothers, Harvey Estes Kinne and Everett B Kinne and a granddaughter, Christy Lee Whitehead.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy W West (David) of Bow, 2 granddaughters, Laura J (Stephen) Moltisanti and Rebecca L (Walter) Manning of Bow, and adopted grandson, Matthew West of Concord, 5 great grandchildren, Natalee and Stephen III Moltisanti, Nicholas, Jacob and Matthew Manning.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the NH Veteran’s Cemetery, Boscawen, NH in the spring.
