I loved dancing with Fred, he was a gracious gentleman, always. and yes those sparkly eyes, he will be missed by me, and by the entire LITMA community.

When we said our good byes face to face, cheek to cheek, I tried so hard to be brave, to be the good daughter you had taught me to be. I kept my peace and breathed slowly and rhythmically, but then I could no longer hold back the flood. You held my hand, as we sat silently, my muffled tears and choked back cries held in out of respect, and then the sobs came bursting out of my chest, my heart began to break. Dad you took your hands and your arms, and drew me to you, wrapping them around me, and I put my head on your shoulder, and I cried. Your shoulder was as strong and your arms and hands and heart as warm, as ever they had been. The crying passed. We sat and drank tea. You dozed in your recliner chair, Alice and I chatted, and then my friends arrived to take me away. You held me face, touched my cheeks, my eyes, my lips, you blew kisses to me, and mouthed "I love you", you did not want to let me go, and I did not want to let you go, but finally I knew it was time. The dance we do in this life, is OUR very own. Our choices, our words, our sharing, our loving, our relationships are rare and unique to ourselves, and those we share with. Dad you and I shared, and sat, talked and debated, walked in wood, over trails and mountains, canoed rivers, skiied slopes, climbed through caves, made breakfast together, celebrated birthdays, Christimas, and more. Laughed until our sides ached, sneezed as though we could blow over trees, told tall tales, and simple trueths. Loved with our WHOLE hearts, holding nothing back. I am glad you are free. And the simple truth is I do and will miss you, always. I Love You Daddy, Daughter, Deirdre
