Lena "Alice" Green

Alice graduated from Concord High School and went on to pursue a lifetime career with AT&T. She began as a phone operator right out of high school and was one of the first employees when AT&T opened in the Mall of NH in Manchester. After her retirement, she worked at Grapponne Companies of Concord for 11 years.

Alice married Jack Green, of Pittsfield, NH in 1955. He joined the Navy and they lived all across the US as they followed his 20 year Navy career. After his retirement, they made Concord, NH their home. While stationed in Brunswick, ME, a camp in Gardiner was purchased. This camp became the center of many memories, stories and happy times for their friends and family for over 56 years.

When Alice wasn’t making memories with her family, she could be found listening to classic country music or riding the casino buses to Foxwoods.

Alice is survived by her children, Richard K. Green, Barbara G. Witham, and Linda D. Johnson; her sister, Eleanor Graham; her grandchildren, Amy Green, Kenneth Green, Amber Witham Spaulding, Donald Billings Jr., Joel Johnson, and Steven Johnson, and eleven great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her former spouse of 28 years, Kenneth John Green “Jack”, her brothers Cliff Cilley, and Roy Cilley, her granddaughter, Lindsey Billings, and her parents.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N Main St Concord, NH 03301. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the United Baptist Church, 39 Fayette St Concord, NH, and a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 N State St Concord, NH.
