Thank you, my beloved sister, for loving me, always taking care of me, and being my safe place.   My love for you has no bounds.  You will always be with me.  Give my love to all of our family, who were undoubtedly overjoyed when you arrived in heaven.  I'm not sure how the world can still exist without you in it. I love you beyond words or measure. 

Hi Peg - I am so  grateful that you were my sister and  friend for 64 years. I love you and will miss you beyond all understanding. I take comfort in knowing that  you are singing and dancing with our loved ones in heaven. Until we meet again, you will be in my heart forever.

I knew “Margaret X” was a force when I had a work discussion with her in 2001 about not having a middle name.  It got to the point where I said “I want to speak to your Mother”.  Next week she brought Mom into work and said “Mom Greg wants to talk to you.”  I was speechless!  Peg +1……….

As you all know, a selfless friend who after she asked how you were, required you to laugh.  If you couldn’t do that on your own, yeah she did whatever it took, including making fun of herself, which she truly laughed at, and then you had no choice but to laugh.  Perfect.

Wish we could have had one more laugh.  I’m sure she is laughing – something about “retiring early” if I know her.

Rest in peace my friend.  We’ll laugh again…………


My favorite memory of Peg, and the one that is forefront in my mind right now, is from my bridal shower in 1983.  My family decided to throw me an “intimate apparel shower” because I’d been living in my own apartment for a couple of years by that time, and my future husband had been living in his own house for even longer, so what did we really need to set up a household?  This was bizarre because I am so-not an “intimate apparel” person.  After suffering through the “oohs and ahhs” of the embarrassing gifts, Peg finally arrived with the perfect gift:  an ice bucket with pictures of farm animals. I loved it and I loved her for bringing it.

When the shower was finally over (apologies to any of the family that attended), we went back to my apartment and stayed up all night (partying).  I was wearing white pants, definitely the only pair I ever owned ( I am not a white pants person either).  I noticed a huge red  (wine) stain on my thigh and was very upset. We tried to get the stain out but nothing was working. Then Peg decided we should try bleach.  I took off my pants, pulled out my bleach and  toothbrush and Peg went to work.  Declaring that the stain was finally removed, I put my pants back on only to find a huge whole where the stain had been!

I loved her even more for it.

Although time passed and we grew apart, I have never forgotten all the special moments we shared (of which this was only one of many).  

I can’t believe you are gone, Peg.  I hope you are pain free and in peace. You deserve at least that.

Good Bye Peg - we will always remember you !  Way too soon ... way, way, too soon. 

“Peggy O’Connor” (we called her that even after she got married) was a dear friend for at least 10 years before she moved to New Hampshire. During that time, my friends and I (and our guitars) were as ubiquitous as the furniture in the small house she shared with Robert in Amity Harbor, New York.  (I like to think it was not mere happenstance that one of Peggy’s standing requests was “I Knew the Bride When She Used to Rock and Roll”, by Dave Edmonds and Nick Lowe.) The whole time I knew Peggy, both  before and after the move to NH, she was truly compassionate and supportive; in other words, everything you would want a true friend to be. There was no one like her and she will surely be missed.  

Thanks for all the wonderful memories and good times.  This is truly a loss for all that knew her.

Peg, you will be so dearly missed by me & John! We go back so far and have shared so many great times and memories together. You were such a sista to me! We will always remember your laugh and sharing so many laughs together! We were always in the kitchen whipping up something yummy to eat and always a beer or two was always being cracked open. 
The love for you will always be there-you will be missed so much until we meet up again!

Our family has such fond memories of Aunt Peg! She loved hosting and was an amazing cook; her little cottage on the canal she had with Uncle Rob had some epic parties and impressive head-counts. Aunt Peg was always a good listener & loved being an Aunt to all of us.  
We may not have been able to see her as much as the years went by, but she will always be considered a part of our family & our hearts.

I had the pleasure of knowing Peg for the past 20+ years, and working closely with her for the past 11.  Of all my co-workers, she was the one that I wanted in the foxhole with me.  If you pushed a boulder down hill at her, she would push it back up to the top.

I'll miss seeing her smile and hearing her laughter every Monday through Friday.  Her catch phrases like "the yums" and "ya know, the thingie."  No matter what she had going on in her life, she always cared more about her family, friends, and co-workers.  A greater person has not walked the face of the earth.

I can’t believe this!! My Mom & I were just talking about you yesterday. We were sharing our own memories of you up at our camp in Vermont. We were laughing over all the fun we had with you up there.. Remembering the time you & I went door to door meeting all the neighbors on Coles Pond and inviting them all for dinner (there might have been a beer or 2 involved)  😉. 
More recently we had dinner together at my Mom’s house and you were regaling us with the fact that you had been getting much better about being on time for work (now that you were working from home😂)   We were like birthday sisters too, mine being the 3rd and yours the 6th. The world was a whole lot brighter with you in it!! I will NEVER EVER forget you, my friend!! To Peg’s family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I know she loved you all dearly.  My heart hurts for all who loved her. I know I did. RIP Peg. 

I just can't believe your gone.  Sad loss for everyone.  You brightened up a room.  You remembered everything someone had told you and followed up on it.  Even if it was a year later.   Amazing woman.   I'll never look at an eggplant without a whimper.  Feta cheese was God!  I'll cherish my "Yum" sign forever.  When you gave it to me you said you'd had it for a year and hadn't hung it. We both hung it that same day.  I will miss you so much.  My sister.  Lot of people up there in Heaven to welcome you.  You just brightened the skies.   Love ya  always
