

Mickey, Mick, Big Mick, was born in Loudon, New Hampshire to his parents, William Joseph Mulkhey and Bertha Leona Mulkhey (Marston) on December 3, 1931. Mickey passed away peacefully at home in Loudon on December 28, 2024, at the age of 93 after a brief illness.
He graduated from Concord High School where he lettered in football and track. During his school years he earned extra money by filling the woodstove at the one room schoolhouse on School Street in Loudon, worked for Harry Hills chicken farm and also delivered milk to Concord milk facilities for local Loudon farmers with his Model A pickup. He also worked and boarded at his Uncle Ken and Aunt Em’s sawmill, Barton Lumber in Pittsfield. He retired from the State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation after 35 years as a highway patrolman. He then enjoyed working with his portable sawmill which he considered a hobby. He also worked for New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
He was a” jack of all trades” in every sense of the word. He would take anything with a motor or without and repair it into a working machine. He loved motorcycles, snowmobiling and spending time outside. His proudest build was not only his home in Loudon but his camp on lake Winnipesaukee where he spent every opportunity. He loved gardening, tinkering and lending a helping hand.
He was a Deacon with the Loudon Congregational Church, a lifetime member of the, Loudon Volunteer Fire department as a fire warden and Canterbury Snow shakers snowmobile club.
Mickey leaves his wife of 69 years Dorothy A. Mulkhey (Contois), his sister Eileen Frances Cummings, his son Melvin A. Mulkhey and wife Deb of Loudon, Lyla A. Mulkhey and wife Tammy of Webster, Deirdre L. Littlefield and husband Tom of Pembroke. He also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Ellen Chesley, two brothers, Joseph Mulkhey and Philip Mulkhey and his daughter Tina Mulkhey.

Calling hour services will be at Bennett Funeral 209 North Main St. Concord, NH 03301, from 4 pm to 6pm on February 20, 2025.
A burial service at a later date will be at the convenience of the family.
