

Milt was born November 29, 1924 to Everett Tasker and Mary “Stone” Tasker in Concord. He was a graduate of Concord High School class of 1942 and was a well know trumpet player. After graduation he went onto work in the family business as an automotive mechanic at Tasker’s Garage. In 1948, he enlisted in the New Hampshire National Guard and went on to serve over 38 years as a senior NCO in the 3643rd Maintenance Company. His tour of duty in the army guard encompassed many periods of peace, war and conflicts. He was an active Mason and belonged to several Masonic orders. He was a life time member of the First Congregational Church in Concord and also worshiped at the South Barnstead Congregational Church during the summer months.
Milt enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, photography, and spending time with family and friends. Milt also loved to travel and visited many beautiful sights before the deterioration of his eyesight took effect. At home he was a master gardener and grew many varieties of flowers and his expertise in vegetable gardening was second to none.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Julia Babb Tasker. He is survived by their three children, Linda Tasker Elkins and husband Russell of Loudon, Barbara Tasker McGahan and husband Brendon of Concord and Thomas Tasker and Gail Skidmore of Webster and two children from a previous marriage Rick Tasker of Barnstead and Melanie Tasker Ekstrom of Pembroke. He also leaves behind his sister Jeanne Tasker Cate and husband Arthur of Concord and brother Roger Tasker and Reita Jenkins of Alabama. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North N. Main St., Concord, on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friends and family are asked to join in remembering Milton on Friday Oct. 21, 2016 at the First Congregational Church, 177 North Main St., Concord, NH. A grave side service will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery immediately after.
