

Richard passed peacefully in the company of his family on 15 January 2014. His wife Karen and his daughter Margaret “Annie” of Hopkinton, NH, Daughter Mildred Kennedy-Stirling and son-in-law Eric Stirling and grandchildren Avis and Oscar of Township A Range 12, Maine, survive him.
A successful newspaper investor he was a proud husband, father and Mason, past master of Columbia-Doric Lodge #149 in Greenville, Maine and member of Harris Lodge #91 in Warner, NH as well as the General Court Lodge #1784, Concord, NH. He was a friend of Bill.
Richard served several terms in the NH legislature, was on the NH Republican State Committee and served on the New Hampshire-Canada Trade Council. While residing in Maine, Richard served as a deputy sheriff of Piscataquis County and on the Maine Republican State Committee.
His interests included gardening, Seaplane Pilots Ass., GONH, the Fight to Educate and a lifelong advocacy for individual liberties. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Salvation Army or the Columbia-Doric Lodge #149 in Greenville, Maine.
Visitation will held on Wednesday, January 22 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00P.M. with a celebration of his life to follow at 7:00 P.M. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 3 Church Street (the brick building), Concord, NH.
A celebration of life will also be arranged this summer in Greenville, Maine.
