

Stephen Swain Latham, 81, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2012 after a debilitating stroke, and a battle with cancer. Stephen was born in Concord on August 5th, 1931 to the late Charles and Eva (Swain) Latham.
Stephen graduated from Concord High School, Class of 1949. His career spanned the course of fifty six years with Concord Electric Company (Unitil). He dedicated most of his life to the sport of basketball. He played in numerous leagues. He also recruited youth for Don Nelson and Satch Sanders Basketball Camp, and coached Concord Christian Basketball Teams and Word of Life Basketball Marathons. Stephen was sociable, down to earth, kind, generous, caring and had a way of bringing humor into any situation.
His family members include his wife of 36 years Linda Latham of Concord; a son Matthew Latham and his wife Jamie of Roanoke, Virginia and their children Cayleb and Claire; a daughter Natalie Latham of Concord; also a stepson Jeremy Spoor and partner Dorene Hartford of Gilmanton and their children Joshua and Briana; a brother Richard Latham and his wife Rita and their children; a sister, Hope Thomas and her husband Robert of Concord and their children.
Stephen was predeceased by his brother Robert Latham of Englewood, Florida.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Centerpoint Chuch, 20 N. State Street, Concord. A reception will follow in the church Fellowship Hall. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Giving Program, 2 Commerce Drive, Ste 110, Bedford, NH 03110.
