Born July 14, 1927 in Hubbard, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Randolph and Lorena Kesner Deane. Mrs. Choppa graduated Hubbard High School in Ohio in 1946. She had worked in retail and in a doctor’s office in Youngstown, OH. She was a homemaker and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Newton, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Choppa, Sr.; two brothers, Richard Deane and Alfred Deane.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Ellen Dalton and husband, Dan of Charlotte; sons, Robert “Bob” L. Choppa, Jr. and wife, Cathy of Conover and David Deane Choppa and wife, Beth of Woodstock, GA; grandchildren, Ellie Choppa, Bobby Choppa, Bryan Choppa, Jack Peattie and wife, Stephanie and Nicholas Peattie and wife, Shalece; and great-grandchildren, Jack, Ben, Mason and Zane Peattie.
A private service will be held at a later date.
