Donald Craig Pope, age 83, of Conover, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at his home. Born on Sunday, October 26, 1941, he was the son of the late Fred and Louise Pope.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Marie Pope and brother Terrell Pope.
Don was a loving husband, father, Papaw, brother and friend. He enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles and racing. He was known for always helping others and having a friendly smile. Don served his country in the US Army.
Family left to remember Don are daughter, Donna Ross; brother Larry (Pauline) Pope; Grandchildren, his FAVORITE granddaughter, Brittni Bowman; grandsons, Ethan Bowman, Colter (Stephanie) Bowman and great grandchildren, Caleb Flores and Briella Bowman.
A service to celebrate Don's life will be Monday, February 3, 2025, at 6:00pm at Drum Funeral Home Chapel, 509 1st Ave S. Conover, NC.
Family will receive 5:00-5:45 prior to the service at Drum Funeral Home.
