

Born on May 14, 1920 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Orley Jacob Schronce and Blanche Lee Wallace Schronce. Dot was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Conover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank York of Conover; second husband, Richard Comer of Rugby, England; third husband, Dewey Houston of Conover; daughter, Vivian York Holbrook; son, Lonnie York; brothers, Frank, Herbert, little James Schronce and Howard Schronce; sister, Malvina Carter.
Dot is survived by her daughters, Judy York, Naomi Smith and Wanda Ammerman; son, R.J. York (Margaret); sisters, Shirley Caldwell and husband, Gerald, and Eunice Mays and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Donnie Holbrook and wife, Susan, Joe Lutz and wife, Melanie, Alisa Hicks and husband, Gary, Cindy Pittman, Kathy Winters, and Debbie Tibbs; 12 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Conover with Revs. Peggy Stout and Tom Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Conover City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.
