Faye Louetta Huffman Rockett

Born December 8, 1934 in Catawba County, Faye was the Daughter of the late Cecil Monroe Huffman and Louetta Clarinda Lail Huffman. She was a lifelong member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church where she was an organist in her early years. She graduated valedictorian of her class at St. Stephens High School, and later from Catawba Valley Community College with a business degree. She was a masterful seamstress for many years, a secretary for Town and Country Furniture. She Retired in 1998 from Catawba Memorial Hospital. She was a founding volunteer with the Women’s Aux for St. Timothy Fire Department, and she loved being her husband’s caretaker for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bobby Rockett; a son, David L Rockett; and a granddaughter Amanda Leigh Rockette.

She is survived by her children Dan Rockett and wife Kathy, Ryan Rockette and wife Janet, Gina Abernethy and husband Jimmy, Robin Russell and husband Tom, and Amy Rockett-Todd and husband Whit; sisters, Jean Connor, Pat Smyre and husband, Bill; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church Cemetery in Conover. Reverend Roger Beaver will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. prior to service on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
