George "Chip" Graves

George “Chip” Graves, age 56, of Conover, NC, passed away peacefully at home with his mother and brother by his side on Friday, November 8, 2013. Born July 15, 1957 in Charlotte, N.C., he was the son of Dorothy Hamilton Graves and the late George Richard Graves. Chip graduated from Conover School and attended Life Skills Program for 20 years. Chip was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ and attended Sunday school at Concordia Lutheran Church for 40 years. Chip participated in special Olympics and enjoyed life. Everyone that knew him loved him.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy H. Graves of the home and a brother, Danny Graves of Conover.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Conover. Pastor Lonny McSherley will officiate and burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
