Joe Daniel Stewart

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers Frank Stewart, Charlie Stewart, Dale Stewart, and Paul Hall; sisters, Laura Seitz, Mary Stewart, and Wilma Deal.

Joe was a loving and honest man. He served in the Navy and the Navy Reserves. He was a maintenance supervisor at Broyhill Furniture in Conover and Newton. He served on the Claremont Rescue Squad for many years. He attended Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Catawba.

Those left to cherish Joe’s memory are his wife of 50 years, Shirley H. Stewart of North Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Cindy Ford and husband James of the home in Claremont; son, Louis Stewart and wife Joan of Claremont; daughter, Sandra Brandon and husband, Toy H. Head Jr. of North Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Brenda Sink and husband Jeremy of Winston Salem, NC; faithful sister, Elizabeth McGuire of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Laura Swink and husband Brad of Hickory, NC, Robbie Ford and wife, Bridget of Claremont, Christina Hedrick of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Chris Chapman of Stoney Point, Cole Brandon of Winston Salem, Brianna Sink of Winston Salem and Zach Sink of Winston Salem; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to all, the family would like to thank Kim Gray of Always Caring for her years of wonderful service to our Daddy.

A Funeral Service for Joe will be held at 1pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Drum Funeral Home Chapel, 509 1st Ave South, Conover with Reverend Larry W. Cooley officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12pm to 12:45pm at Drum Funeral Home.
