Josephine Elizabeth Little Setzer

Josephine Elizabeth Little Setzer, age 96, of Claremont, NC, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Sherrills Ford Hospice in Sherrills Ford, NC. Born October 1, 1921 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Chase Little and Winne Mae Little Little.

Josephine was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont. She was a former Sunday school teacher, former member of the Dorcas Society, and was in Ladies Aid.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Marvin Setzer Sr.; brothers, Billy Little, Charlie Little, Eubert Little and Claude Little; and sisters, Helen Hollar and Annie Byers.

Survivors include her sons, George M. Setzer, Jr. and wife, Joyce of Claremont, Nicky Setzer and wife, Evelyn of Claremont; sister in-laws, Alice Mae Little and Hazel Setzer; grandchildren, Michelle Setzer Hollar and husband, Jeffrey, and Leanne Setzer Christenbury; great-grandchildren, Jacob Andrew Christenbury, Maggie Elizabeth Christenbury, and Lillie Catherine Christenbury; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont, with Rev. Gary Haddock officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Drum Funeral Home in Conover, NC on Monday, October 30, 2017 from

5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
