

Mary Jane Wilson Hefner, age 95, of Newton died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Born June 15, 1917 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Gordon and Reba Sigmon Wilson.
She worked as an instructor in weaving with United Merchants Fiberglass Mill in Statesville, NC for 31 years. She was a member of Beth Eden Lutheran Church in Newton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Hefner and six brothers, Forney Wilson, Earnest Wilson, L. G. Wilson, Jr., Albert Wilson, Richard Wilson, and Roby Wilson; four sisters, Mildred McKay, Evelyn Harris, Anna Mae Murray, and Josephine Reinhardt; and a grandson, Jeffrey Lee Wilson.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Gail Hefner of Newton, Dennis and Elaine Hefner of Cherryville, NC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Reba and Michael Sigmon of Newton, Denise and Mike Goble of Claremont; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
A Service of Remembrance will be conducted on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Beth Eden Lutheran Church. The Rev. Marcus Ollis will officiate and burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.
