Early on the morning of March 24, 2018 the angels came down from heaven and took Michael Edward Young II “Mikie”, away. He was 31 and lived in Conover. He was the son of Michael Edward Young and Susan Carol Young.
Mikie was a truck driver and transported goods all over the United States. He loved spending his free time riding his Yamaha YZ125 dirt bike. He loved to watch and attend motocross races when he was not riding. Mikie especially loved to go to events in Atlanta and at Muddy Creek in Tennessee. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mike was known for his generosity and helped others when he could. He pulled many cars out of ditches on snowy days.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Elmer Edward Young.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Tyler Young of Conover; his grandparents, Al and Pearl Young and Barbara Conder; aunts, Karen Young, Lynette Young, Dee Estes, Tina Young; uncles, Jim Estes and David Young.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 27, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m - 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Aloysius Catholic Church, St. Aloysius Knight of Columbus, 921 2nd St. NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
