Ray Herman Boston Sr., age 91, of Hickory, went home to be with his Lord and his wife, Norma, on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Trinity Ridge/Lutheran Home in Hickory. Born February 10, 1922 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Lester Boston and Rose McCloud Boston. After retiring from the City of Newton where he worked for many years, Ray worked for Lowes Hardware.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Nash Boston and a sister and brother-in-law, Maxine Rice and husband, Bob.
Left to treasure his memory are his son, Ray Boston Jr. of Hickory; two sisters, Mavis Hedrick and husband, Richard, of Conover, Joan Adkins and husband, Bill of Hickory; a brother, Edward Boston and wife, Frankie of Naples, Florida.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover with Rev. Fred Thompson officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service on Thursday at Drum Funeral Home.
