Born November 18, 1946 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Grover “Pete” and Clarke Cline Spencer. Ronald had worked for Flowers Company, Hickory Auto Parts, and Cannon Aviation. He was a member of Sweetwater Presbyterian Church. Ronald loved his boys and auto racing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Dallas Spencer; and uncles Ted Cline and Jack Cline.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Karen Boston Spencer of the home; sons, Chris and Cory Spencer of the home; grandson Corin Scott Spencer; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Sweetwater Presbyterian Church. Rev. Catherine Taylor will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the service.
