

Ruth Wright Little, 90, of Conover passed away peacefully and Heaven gained an angel on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021. Born October 26, 1930, in Belmont, NC, she was the daughter of the late Simeon Quince Wright and Edna Garrett Wright.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Little Jr.; daughter, Janice Jacobs; and brother, Gene Wright.
Ruth graduated as valedictorian of her Cliffside High School class at the age of 16, and then from Clevenger College. She married Fred Little Jr. in 1955 and they raised three children together. Ruth retired from Hickory Printing Group where she enjoyed a successful career in sales. She was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Conover.
Ruth never met a stranger. She loved people and her positive outlook and ever-present smile were contagious. Her faith in God was strong and an inspiration to us all. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends and always wanted to help those in need. She was competitive, witty and loved playing bridge with friends, Panthers football and a good political discussion. She loved to laugh and share funny stories, her sense of humor kept us laughing and guessing. With a love of travel and good food, she was a gourmet cook and enjoyed entertaining and sharing new techniques and recipes. She was loved by all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her son, Fred Little lll, of Hickory NC, son, Robert Little and wife Debra of Fort Mill SC; son-in-law Calvin Jacobs of Houston TX; sisters, Joan Moore of Conover, NC, Doris Curry of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Linda Martin and husband John of Huntersville NC; and sister-in-law, Luana Wright of Conover, NC.
Grandchildren, Jennifer Faherty and husband Mike of Conroe,TX, Brett Jacobs of Houston, TX, Daniel Little and wife Michelle of Charlottesville, VA and Matthew Little of Fort Mill, SC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at a future date. Her request was “Throw me a party when I’m gone.”
