Sadie Lee Ipock Simpkins

Born November 24, 1926 in Craven County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Biggs A. Ipock and Lela Robinson Ipock.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 59 years, John W. Simpkins and brothers, Bud Ipock, Pete Ipock and Bill Ipock

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Sheryl Jo Sloan of Conover, Susan Simpkins Samson of Newton, Jackie S. Rogers of Hickory; sisters, Bonnie Mae Brinkley of New Bern, Pat Toler of Ernul, NC, and Vernice Hoyle of Cove City.

Sadie was the bookkeeper for the family business, B&L Gas & Oil in Hickory, a long-time member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, and treasurer of her Sunday School class. She visited and delivered church information to those who were confined at home.

The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 11:00 at Drum Funeral Home Chapel in Conover, with the Rev. Jerry Anderson and Rev. Ed Braswell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 p.m.
