Sherry Elizabeth Hermann

Sherry was born on January 4, 1951, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to Aleta Marjorie (McKibben) Hermann and Gerald Paul Hermann. She graduated from Pittsfield High School and received an Associate’s Degree from Berkshire Community College. She moved to Conover, North Carolina with her parents in 1973 and lived in the Greater Hickory area for nearly 53 years. She was a foster parent for several years, earning the Foster Parent of the Year Award in 1992 from the Catawba County Department of Social Services. She also worked as a nurses aide for many years. She lived with and cared for her parents during their final years.

She is survived by her sister, Cecilia LeBeau, and her brother, Albert Hermann; brother-in-law Paul LeBeau; sister-in-law Terri Hermann; nieces Laura LeBeau Lewis and Sophia Hermann; and nephews David LeBeau and Christopher LeBeau.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at The Greens of Viewmont for their thoughtful and devoted care for Sherry during her time there.

Sherry will be remembered at a gathering on May 8 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Drum Funeral Home, 509 First Ave South, Conover, North Carolina.
