Wendell Crim

Born on January 11, 1948 in Herkimer County, NY, he was the son of the late Doris and Howard Wheelock, formerly of Ilion, NY. He worked for GKN Sinter Metals and had over 45 years of experience in the powdered metal industry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Arthur Witt and Aaron Davis; and nephew, Todd Wheelock.

Wendell is survived by his wife of 29 years, Elsa Strife Crim; four sons, Jeffery Crim and his wife, Connie, James Crim and his wife, Shelly, Matthew Crim and his wife, Jennifer, and Justin Smith; one daughter, Melissa Holmes and her husband, Kyle; grandchildren, Shandra Crim, Cole, Brady and Zachary Crim, Dillon Holmes, Zachary Smith and Sabrina Lee, all of NY, Michael, Kayla and Krystina Crim of VA; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Miles Ackler and his wife, Hannah, Daryle Wheelock and his wife, Florance, Kevin Wheelock and his wife, Cathy, all of NY; five sisters, Bonnie Witt and companion, Roger Schuyler of KY, Robbin Smith and husband, Albert, of AZ, Sandra Davis, Cheryl Tubia and companion, Vinny Carino, Debra Rinaldi and husband, Leo, all of NY; four brothers-in-law, C. J. Strife and wife, Kathy, of Bluffton, SC, Tom Strife and wife, Lee Ann, of Rome, NY, Jeff Strife and wife, Valerie, of Mohawk, NY, and Robert Strife and wife, Aimee, of York, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The Crim family will consider his home open to friends on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for anyone wishing to pay their respects.
