Audra Annette Hill, 65 of Conroe passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. She was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on July 26, 1958 to Gene and Nellie Lane. Annette and family lived in San Jon, NM until 1962 when they moved to Houston, then in 1971 the family moved to Conroe. Annette attended Willis High School where she met the love of her life Mike Hill. Annette and Mike were married on November 20, 1975 at the First Baptist Church in Willis. Annette graduated from Willis High School in 1976, Annette and Mike then moved to Houston to be closer to work. In 1978 Annette and Mike moved back to Conroe where Annette became the mother of two daughters that year, one in January and one in November. Mike went to work for his father-in-law and soon after Annette went to work for her father and stayed there until 2010. Annette was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer in May 2019 and battled for almost 5 years.
Annette joined the Memorial Baptist Church by baptism in 1984 and was a faithful member until her health wouldn't allow her to attend on a regular basis, she was also a lifetime member of the Montgomery County Fair Association. She was very proud to have homeschooled her grandchildren, she was very dedicated and passionate about her grandchildren. She was fortunate to have taught her eldest granddaughter, Ashton, from kindergarten to graduating with honors from high school. She was able to homeschool her grandson, Tyler and youngest granddaughter, Brenlynn until her health would no longer allow her to. Annette loved her family with all that she had.
She was preceded in death by her father Gene Lane, sister Gloria “Susie” Mott and brother Doyle Lane. Annette is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Mike Hill, daughters J.J. Hill-Wallace and spouse Robert and Teri Goodnight and spouse Robert, mother Nellie Lane, grandchildren Ashton Poole and spouse Tanner, Tyler Goodnight and Brenlynn Hill, brothers Ricky Lane and spouse Lynne and Willy Lane, and sister-in-law Denise Lane.
A visitation for Annette will be held Monday, February 5, 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral services will occur Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 2:00 at Cashner Funeral Home with graveside interment to follow at Garden Park Cemetery. A reception will occur Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 3:30 PM at Memorial Baptist Church, 14630 Edwards Road, Montgomery, Texas 77316.
Annette requseted before her death that in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to Shriners Children's Hospital in her name.
