

April Ann Ulrich at the tender age of 19, passed away suddenly Wednesday, November 26, 2014 surrounded by her loving mother and father. She was born March 15, 1995 in Libertyville, IL to Josette and Douglas Tharp. April was a devoted member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Richards, TX, where she was baptized. She was highly involved in the Marine Corp J.R.O.T.C program all four years while attending Montgomery High School where she recently graduated June 7, 2014. April was precious gem and a beautiful treasure to many people. She touched so many people’s lives in her short years. April was wise beyond her years and through many tragedies in her own life, she chose to take those hard times and make her life positive and try to show others that regardless of what you might be dealing with, be optimistic; positive and to live life full of happiness. Many people saw how April lived, full of life and bubbly, they began to become more optimistic instead of negative about life. April volunteered wherever she could no matter where or when. She wanted others to learn that even with hardship, life can be joyous. April is preceded in death by her loving great grandmother, Elsie Ida Funk- Shine. She is survived by her parents, Josette and Douglas Tharp, brothers, Thomas Jarrett and wife Jennifer, Kevin Ulrich; Jason Tharp and wife Kelli, grandparents, Annette Rowan, William and Carol Karstens and Sharlene Ulrich-Kellogg, nieces, Brooklyn Tharp, Kelsie Jarrett and Cailyn Ann Jarrett, nephew, Luke Tharp, her loving godmother- aunt, Toni Massaro-Sammons, aunts, Cheryl, Mary and Erin Rowan; Sandi, Joyce, Vicki and Kathy Ulrich. So many numerous other relatives and a host of friends also survive. Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 11:00AM at Union Grove Baptist Church (24380 FM 149, Richards, TX 77873) with Pastor Rick Boswell officiating.
