A.D. Ssozi was the AMAAAAAZING headmaster at Kitante Primary School, when I attended some 35+ years ago! I stumbled upon this website following a bout of curiosity and nostalgia. 

I am so saddened to learn of his passing!! He was truly a GEM, and you could tell he absolutely loved and cared for his primary school kids. I recall he endearingly more than once "threatened" to cane me for being late (but of course never did and as an adult I now realize it was because he was too kind-spirited and gentle-natured to cane us!). He would always greet us standing at the top of the stairs outside his office, as we came to school, with his usual energetically said " 'mornin'!" shortened phrase, said out of the corner of his mouth in his fancy British accent that we loved to hear, with his usual pipe dangling out the other corner - and somehow still managing a never-ending huge smile! He'd do this over and over, as though he had set out to acknowledge and greet every single child! He was so kind and loving that I remember him feeling more like he was a proud father for us all in school. And he was always impeccably dressed! At Kitante is where I first discovered that I was good at creative essay writing, which is my earliest memory of confidence boosting. Dr. Ssozi truly looked out for our wellbeing and safety and provided top-notch resources for us. I would have loved the chance to thank him in person, but alas, I get to do so here. THANK YOU Dr. Ssozi, for building such wonderful memories and creating such a strong and reputable school for us kids! 

I pray that time brings healing and understanding to the family and they are covered in God's love and peace. 

Rest in God's peace Dr. Ssozi! I will never forget how loved and special you made me - and all of us little kids - feel!

I will fondly remember Mr.AD Sozi's kindness and graciousness - as Love's friends and later getting to know him and the rest of his family.  Often dropping by their Kitante home as med students, it was  wonderful to have the Sozi's live so close. We cherished the love he showered on us; and the sense of  belonging that we enjoyed when visiting with Love, Roscoe and the rest of the family.
He will be sorely missed.

Rest in Peace Mr Sozi....up to this day I still have memories about you in the brief  Administrative capacity/Headmaster at the Aghakhan(Kampala Primary School).On behalf of all the former Aghakhan Primary School teachers and students during your time , May Your Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

When A. D. Ssozi became my Head Teacher you could immediately feel the difference about education while we were at Kitante Primary School(the best school in the world! Well then that is the song we sang and believed and worked hard to maintain the high standards of the school.) 

Education was about learning and not cramming, we enjoyed sports and club activity, we felt safe even though that was one of the most difficult political regimes I have been through. 

Mr. Ssozi ensured we were safe. Children no matter what their backgrounds were equal (with him there was no sosola!) 

He was a Father to us. He made us look forward to the future and we have made it. One of the most interesting things was when he made a promise to teach us a song and we looked forward to that day with graet anticipation. This motivated us and when he eventually did we were going to hold a charity walk. That's when he taught us the Swazi warrior song. Till today many of us use it together with the Kitante song as a way of identifying ourselves!

There is a lot to say but the most important is to thank you for being there for us, listening to us, guiding us, helping out parents get us to where we are(you knew each child's parent and years later could meet a former pupil and ask about the parents). You were indeed special.

I know a place called Kitante that was once abound by magic,
a different kind of magic.A place where eagles went to get their wings, and tigers to sharpen their claws .And in that place lived a magician,a magician named A.D.Sozi.Who reigned over this magical place with grace, and strength ,and poise.I know a place that looked mediocrity in the eye, put out a forgiving hand ,and in a moment took a stand to be the greatest in the land.I come from a place where Sozi did his magic,a special kind of magic.A magic that caused children of all colors to hold hands and march to the rhythm of possibility and hope.A place where long lasting discipline and principles were fervently  instilled, and forever friendships were born.I come from this place deep  in the heart of kyadondo, where there once lived a magician,a magician named A.D.Sozi.
