

Boyd Odom, born in Conroe, TX, November 2, 1933, passed away May 31, 2011 at his home in Conroe, TX. He attended Conroe public schools, served his country in the United States Army, and worked as a railroad machinist for eighteen years. While working for the railroad, he founded Odom Trailer Mfg. Co., Inc. in 1962, a family business that continues to this day. Boyd was an avid bass fisherman and a long-time member of the Conroe Bass Club.
Boyd received Jesus Christ as his Saviour in 1961 while attending Timbergrove Baptist Church in Houston, was a member of Mims Baptist Church for thirty-eight years, and was currently a member of West Conroe Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by parents Jesse David and Margie Smith Odom, three brothers, Lloyd, Roy, and M.D. Morse, one sister, Edith Holman, and parents-in-law: Floyd and Leta Lee. Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Nora Mae Odom; Children: Linda Cates and husband Rocky; Dale Odom and wife Donna; Janiece Upshaw and husband Larry; Grandchildren: Jacquelyn Odom, Corby Upshaw, Angelina Upshaw; Great-Grandchildren: Alecia Odom, Orlando Odom, and Anthony Granados, Jr.; Sister-in-law, Eunice Morse; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers: Donnie Cates, Blante Evans, Grady James, Fred John, Mike Morse, and Dana Nixon. Honorary Pallbearers: Employees of Odom Trailer Mfg. Co, Inc. and members of the Conroe Bass Club.
Visitation: Thursday, June 2, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. (Family will be available to receive visitors from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.) Services will be held Friday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Cashner Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jay Gross officiating and Pastor Bobby Lynch delivering the eulogy.
