She grew up in Alexandria, Louisiana and moved to Houston to attend Nursing College. There she met Frank Groves; they married in 1963 and have been together ever since. They raised 2 daughters in Lumberton, Texas, eventually retiring to Montgomery where Carol enjoyed cultivating her garden, staying involved at her church, and traveling the world with family.
Carol is survived by her husband of 57 years, Frank Groves, and their two daughters, Ruth Hermes and her husband Doug Hermes of Austin, Texas, and Regina Clark and her husband, Tim Clark of Lenoir, North Carolina, and her four beloved grandchildren, Christopher Clark of New York, New York, Nicholas Clark of Chicago, Illinois, Casey Clark of Dallas, Texas, and Rachel Hermes of Austin, Texas.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 5-7 pm and a Rosary at 6:30 pm at Metcalf Funeral Home at 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 8227 County Road 205, Plantersville, Texas 77363 on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11am.
