Carolyn was born on January 18, 1950 in Manson, NC. The seventh of ten children to Chestley and Eula Plummer née Durham. Upon graduating high school in 1968, she moved to Newark, NJ and began her career while living with her brother Samuel. Carolyn started attending Victory Tower COGIC, presently known as Lockett Memorial COGIC. It was at this time she was converted and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was filled with the Holy Ghost. Carolyn has held many positions in the church including, Children Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Choir Director, Church Secretary, and District Youth Field Worker. Her last positions held were First Lady and Women's Coordinator of the Abundant Life Ministries COGIC. Throughout her spiritual life Carolyn was a true and anointed worshiper.
Carolyn was gainfully employed with Dun & Bradstreet for 36 years. She started her career in the mailroom and was blessed with the ability and opportunities to move through various positions. She retired happily as payroll manger in August, 2006.
In 1976, Carolyn Plummer met Andrew Towns at church where they were both district workers. They coordinated youth services, activities, and outings together. They were married September 2nd, 1978. From this union two daughters were born, Adrienne and Naomi Towns. In 2009, the family moved to Conroe, TX to be closer to the church her husband was appointed Pastor. Carolyn worked diligently alongside him, doing everything she could to help the church function and grow. She was loved by all who worked with her and knew her.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Chestley and Eula Plummer, five brothers, Samuel, Bobby, Charles, Clifford, and Calvin. The memories she has made will be remembered by her husband Andrew, daughters Adrienne and Naomi, grandchildren, Heaven and Nehemiah, sister Judy Plummer, four brothers, Joseph, Eugene, Leroy, and Harold Plummer, sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Mark) Anna and B. Denise (Kenneth) Avery, and a host of relatives.
