Born on April 9, 1938, Carroll proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before embarking on a long and successful career with AT&T, where he later retired. Never one to sit still, Carroll poured his passion and entrepreneurial spirit into founding Lynn's Truck Parts—a business he built from the ground up and ran for many years with great pride. His company became not just a livelihood, but a testament to his work ethic, grit, and determination.
Carroll had a deep love for classic cars and trucks, which he delighted in restoring, showing off, and talking about with anyone who shared his enthusiasm.
Whether manning the pit at one of his legendary BBQs or sharing stories over a plate of smoked brisket, Carroll's love for good food and good company brought people together. His cookouts weren’t just meals—they were gatherings filled with laughter, storytelling, and the kind of warmth only he could provide.
Later in life, Carroll retired to a quiet property in Conroe, Texas, surrounded by his memories and lifelong passions. There, he found peace in routine—religiously feeding his deer and birds every day. He enjoyed the simplicity of country life and the company of his animals. He also had a large shop on his property where he could tinker, rebuild, and remodel to his heart’s content—always with a project in the works.
More than anything, Carroll cherished time spent with those he loved. He had a gift for storytelling, often captivating others with tales drawn from a life well-lived. His guiding philosophy— “No job or task is so important that it cannot be done cleanly and safely every time”—was a reflection of his character: steady, thoughtful, and principled.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Bernice Lynn; his sisters Wanda "Lucille" Martin, Belva Roam, Patsy Richie; his brother, Sonny Lynn; and his beloved wife, Patsy Lynn.
Carroll is survived by his children: Melinda Andress, Carroll Ray Lynn, Jr., Sherrie Ray, Michael Lynn, and Gina Kaufhold; and by his stepchildren: Gayle Burke, Robert Hawthorne, and Jane Hawthorne. His legacy lives on in his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his love of family, tradition, and hard work.
We take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with loved ones, most likely surrounded by old trucks, great food, and laughter.
A visitation for Carroll will be held Monday, June 9, 2025 beginning at 9:00 AM with the funeral service starting at 10:00 AM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303. Graveside will follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
