Catherine "Kate" Grimes

Surrounded by her loving family, Catherine Odeal Grimes went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 12, 2018 at home in Willis, Texas. Catherine (Kate) was the pillar of her family, always giving selflessly of herself and making each and every day a blessing of time. Her courage, grace and strength were a treasure to all around her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother (Nanny) who placed enormous value on the importance of family. Born on October 29, 1937 to Joe and Margaret Burton, Kate grew up in Houston Texas graduating from Reagan High School in 1957. It was there that she met and married her high school sweetheart Norman Eddie Grimes on December 19, 1957, beginning the ultimate love story. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Norman Eddie Grimes; her daughters Cindy Reneau and husband Jay, Linda Neeley and husband Greg; her grandchildren Amy Harmon Hartley, Jake Harmon and wife Amber, Blake Neeley, Amber Neeley Trant and husband Blane; her great grandchildren DJ and Dillon Hartley, Bryce Harmon, Rylan and Maddox Trant; sister Barbara McLaughlin; nephews Mike McLaughlin and wife Dawn, Pat McLaughlin and wife Dottie; and many cousins and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Margaret Burton and her brother John Larkin Burton. A visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception following. A private family burial will take place following the reception.
