

Charles R. Baldwin died Sept. 8, 2009, in Conroe, Tx. He was born May 20, 1934, in Amityville, N.Y. His is survived by his wife of 50 years, Adrianna, daughter, Anne McDermott of Exeter, R.I., son, Gregg Gauvain of Blue Point, M.Y., son, Alan Gauvain and wife Debbie of Valley Forge, Pa., son, Timothy Jon and wife Lori of Conroe, Tx., daughter, Bonnie Barba and husband Vince of Delmar, N.Y. He is survived by 10 grandchildren: Brendan, Meghan, Christopher, Jacob, Michael, Samantha, Mark, Emily, Jordan and Amy. Also surviving Charles are three sisters: Julia Smatlak, Florence Baldwin and Ellen Cherrick.Charles “Tim” Baldwin spent 67 years of his life on Long Island, where he enjoyed his membership in the following organizations: the N.Y. National Guards, I.B.E.W. Local 25 where he was president from 1984 to 1992, Boy Scouts of America (Leader of Troop 151), Board of Directors of Salvation Army, Board of Directors of National Safety Council. He was also a Vestry Member of St. Marks Episcopal Church, Islip, N.Y. Charles enjoyed coming to Conroe during the winter and he and Adrianna eventually decided to retire here. He became involved in the community and acted as president of the Fairway Village Homeowners Association in River Plantation. The family would like to thank Dr. Gregory Seymour and Brea Price of the Houston Cancer Center, the kind folks at Houston Hospice and numerous other medical staff.
