On September 29th, 2021, Charles Edward “Chad” Upshaw passed away suddenly near Spring Texas. Chad was born on June 11, 1985 and was called home to be with our Heavenly Father at the age of 36yrs. He was a loving Son, Father, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin, and Friend.
Chad is preceeded in death by his maternal grandmother Ruth Elisabeth King, his maternal grandfather Edward C. King, and his maternal step-grandmother Doodie Thompson. Paternal Grandfather Charles M. Upshaw Sr and his Paternal grandmother Marion A. Upshaw. And his Paternal Step Grandfather Royal Lowery.
Those left to treasure his memory are his father Charles M. Upshaw, Jr. and wife Susan, mother Marlene Dodds and husband Argen L. Dodds, III, step-father John B. Thompson, Jr., his Step grandfather John B. Thompson Sr. and His Step grandmother Bernita Lowery; his children Mia Elisabeth Upshaw, Misael Salgado Valencia, Luis O.J. Valencia, and Erick A.J. Valencia; sister Lauren Elisabeth Thompson; maternal aunts and uncles - Al Lukes, Rene’ Lukes, and Shellie Robinson; Paternal Aunts and Uncles - Brad Upshaw and Angela Upshaw, numerous cousins, other family members and a host of friends.
Chad spent most of his life in the Spring Texas area and graduated from Klein Oak High School in 2003. He also Graduated with a degree from ITT Technical School in 2008,
Chad worked in several fields but always returned to construction, remodeling, and home repair. He enjoyed being self-employed and always wanted to learn a new way to repair or build something. From building fire pits at the ranch in Waelder to recently redesigning horse stalls for his Mother’s horses.
Chad grew up a soccer enthusiast and played from the age of 5 to 18. He loved his cub scout friends and completed his arrow of light into Boy Scouts. Chad loved fishing and hunting and the outdoors and spent many good times with his family and friends fishing every pond or waterway he could put a hook in. He loved playing disc golf with is friends and listening to many types of music from Johnny Cash to Houston Rap Artists, to Jerry Jeff Walker. He was always ready for a tubing trip down the Guadalupe River with his friends or family and was always there to save you from flipping out of your tube.
Chad was a Christian. He was washed in the word of God and he spoke many times of scriptures and what they meant to him. He truly believed that the Lord was the Truth and the Way,
Chad loved life, his family, and his friends. And we loved him. He taught us to trust in God. To believe that for everything there is a purpose in Heaven.

A memorial service for Chad will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mia Elisabeth Upshaw's Education Fund, in Chads' honor. Checks should be payable to Mia Elisabeth Upshaw's account number 1322816842 and sent to 3830 Louetta Rd., Spring, Texas 77388.
