Hazel may you find comfort and peace in the prayers, and thoughts of good times through the years.

Although I did not know Mr. VanDerbur in person, I knew him though Janice.  I knew him as a wonderful father any person would ever want.

My condolences to the family of Mr. Vanderbur. May you be comforted by reflecting on the wonderful memories that you will cherish forever. Also there will be a end to all causes of death and the heartaches it brings.

Dear Janice,  I am so glad you have the parents you had; they nurtured you well, and it shows in how you cherish them. It is never easy to lose a parent, and you are not alone with your loss. We hope you celebrate his life every day.

I will sorely miss my Uncle Charles. He was such  gentle man with such a great sense of humor.  I took up golf at a later time in my life and got to play in foresomes of my dad,Everett;my husband Don;  Uncle Charles, and myself.  What good times we had.  The patience that Uncle Charles showed us two rookies (Don and I) was truly great.  He and Aunt Hazel were always the most gracious host when we came for a visit.  I can see him and Pop in Heaven now playing golf and playing cards with Grandpa Van. My prayers and love to all the family. I know that after 71yrs Aunt Hazel you will be lost for awhile but just remember all the good memories you have to keep you company.

A Hero to me all of the time.
Quiet, Humorous, Loving and I could go on with many more things that made him so special. We will miss him sorely.

Janice you and your family will be in my prayers

Darlene Lolley, sister of Charles Van Derbur - Charles was my idol, my mentor and my protector - I looked up to him and admired him for his integrity and intelligence,  He encouraged me to become well educated,  When he attended Cillicothe Jr College, he asked me to attend with him but I needed to work and ended up in Denver, Colo, working for CDMC defence plant where the B-29's were built for WW2 - I worked as secretary to Chief Hicks, Plant Protection Mgr and Safety Engr Frank Garland - I took dictation and took down interrorgations of suspected German spies - it was a very nervous time, there were motto's plastered everywhere that said, "Loose lips sink ships" - Itwas a nervous time but also an excitng time,  Charles gave me the incentive toalways try to do better.  He was the kindest, most gentle man I have ever known, with the exceptions of my own 4 sons,  I've written my memories of Charles and gave them to his son, my nephew, Doug Van Derbur.  Whenever my company had a Christmas party, Charles would make sure he was back from Venezuela in time to escort me to the party.  I loved him dearly and will have an ache in  my heart for a long,long time from missing his presence on earth but I can talk to him in my prayers, knowing that consoles me somewhat.  I know Charles is in heaven, hitting golf balls around Heaven's court and when I hear thunder now and a clap of lightning, I'll know it's Charles hitting a hole in one! I am so sorry for your loss.  I am so glad Dan and I got to see Uncle Charles a  few years ago. He still had his sense of humor and kind spirit.  What a teaser.  Aunt Hazel and Uncle Charles were quite the pair.  I can hear Aunt Hazel saying "Oh Charles" when she was frustrated with his teasing.  Dan and I and Shelley and Adam will miss him but what good memories we have of our large, loving, family.  Love and prayers!  Dan and Charlene DeVault
