

Dale Smyth, 82, surrounded by family passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas. Born November 10, 1942, in Dixon, Illinois, Dale lived a full and meaningful life marked by service, a love for people, his family and deep faith.
After completing his high school education, Dale answered the call to serve his country with honor and distinction. He proudly served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant E-6. His time in the military reflected his steadfast dedication and sense of duty—qualities that would continue to define him throughout his life.
Dale embarked on a career in sales where he built lasting relationships through his personable nature and strong work ethic. Dale’s life was deeply rooted in faith. Church played a central role throughout his years, and his love for Jesus guided his actions and interactions. He had a genuine love for people and found joy in connecting with others. His warmth and openness left an impression on all who knew him. Whether casting a line on a quiet lake or sharing stories around a card table with friends and family, Dale cherished the simple pleasures of fishing and socializing.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents Harry & Hazel Smyth as well as children Jeff Smyth, Kristie Howard, and Robert Higgins. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Linda Smyth; his children Pam & Patrick McGinty; Daniel & Kelly Smyth; David & Melissa Smyth; and grandchildren Tyler Fuller, Adam McGinty, Amanda McGinty, Claire Smyth, Zach Smyth, Riley Smyth, Andrew Smyth and Josie Smyth. His memory is also held dear by those who knew him through church and community.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 22, 2025, 1:00 PM at The Woodlands Methodist Church – Robb Chapel, located at 2200 Lake Woodlands Dr, The Woodlands, Texas 77380. May Dale’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and his enduring faith continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
