David Dewayne Grappe (1958 - 2024), a resident of Montgomery TX, son of the late Edward T. Grappe, Sr. and Christine M. Schewe, was born in Shreveport LA. He attended Caddo Parish schools and was a graduate of Huntington High School. Soon after graduation, Dave started his career in the grocery business and held many managerial positions spanning over 41 years. He retired from Kroger at the age of 59 and continued part-time work for The Scotts Company until his passing on June 23, 2024.
Dave’s greatest passions in life were deer hunting, gardening, his many pets, and his family. Dave was a member of the Leppergator Lodge Hunting Lease in Huntsville, TX for approximately 28 years and it was his favorite place to be. Just like his father, Dave had a green thumb and could grow prize winning tomatoes. Dave loved spending time with his brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews, and all of his relatives.
Dave is survived by his older brother, Ted Grappe and wife Michelle; younger brother, Chris Grappe and wife Tracey; Stephen Grappe (nephew); Cody Grappe (nephew) and wife Sadie; Ashlyn Grappe (niece), and many more countless cousins, great nieces and nephews, and aunts.
There will be a memorial service for Dave on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 10:00 am located at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe TX 77303. Reception to follow at the residence of Chris and Tracey Grappe
