He graduated from Conroe High School and went on to have a successful career. Delmer worked for Turner and Turner Construction in Houston, Texas during the 60’s and 70’s. Two of the last big jobs he worked on was the construction of Houston Intercontinental Airport and the Texaco Building downtown Houston, Texas. In 1972, he started Pruett’s Locksmith in Conroe, Texas.
Delmer was a member of First Assembly of God in Conroe, Texas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and metalwork. Delmer was known as a craftsman and an Inventor, always ready to solve any problem.
Delmer is survived by his wife, Joyce (Joy) Pool Pruett of Conroe, Texas; sons, David Allen Pruett and wife, Chrystal, of Eagle Lake Texas, and Daniel Wayne Pruett of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, James Clinton Pruett and Daniel DeLeon Pruett; stepchildren, Brian Young, Valerie Young, and Judie Burnham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruby Pruett of Conroe, Texas; wife, Delores Cryer Pruett of Conroe, Texas; brother, Gerald Pruett of Washington State; and sister, Roberta Jefferson of Fairfield, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at Conroe First Assembly, 3993 I-45 North, Conroe, Texas on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, with the service following at 11:00 am. A graveside service and interment will take place at 2:00 pm at Conroe Memorial Park, 1600 Porter Road, Conroe, Texas. Metcalf Funeral Directors in Conroe, Texas is assisting with the arrangements.
