Derlene Ruth (Langley) Foster, 70, of Conroe, Texas, met her glorious Savior on August 2, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born March 30, 1952 in Tampa, Florida, to Derl and Joan (Bearden) Langley. She grew up in East Texas and Houston, and married the love of her life Richard (Richie) Foster on July 4, 1969. They began their life together in Houston, Texas, and then moved with their two children Kasey and Brian to Conroe. Once in Conroe, Richie and Derlene renewed their commitment to following Christ, and since then, faithfully followed and served him, building a beautiful legacy of gracious, faithful love for their Lord and for each other.
Derlene worked at National Bank of Conroe / Woodforest for about 20 years, where she built many solid friendships that continued until her last days. She loved her Houston Astros and watched them up until her last day with us. She and Richie have served for the last 10 years at West Conroe Baptist Church, ministering to people via Cross Conroe, Bethlehem City, as well as participating in disaster relief with Texas Baptist Men. She enjoyed traveling and rv'ing with Richie after retirement (many times getting lost, which she dubbed "Foster adventures" on those trips).
Derlene was preceded in death by her grandparents Preston and Ruth Bearden, Bennett and Lorene Langley; and her parents Derl Langley and Joan Bearden Mason.
She is survived by her husband, Richie Foster of Conroe; daughter and son-in-law Kasey and Rob Prigmore of Montgomery; son and daughter-in-law Brian and Tiffany Foster of Conroe; grandchildren Madison and Jacob Prigmore, and Kendall (and fiancé Danielle), Jonathan (and fiancé Emili), Isaac (and wife Ami), and Hope Foster; stepmother Zane Langley of Jacksonville, Texas; sister Robbie Shugart of Bullard, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, and many many MANY wonderful friends.
"But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
A worship and life celebration service will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, August 9th at West Conroe Baptist Church, with viewing beginning at 10:00 am. Graveside will follow 12:30 at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery at 1600 Porter Road in Conroe.
