Donald Lee Everitt

Donald was a United States Army Veteran, serving his country after high school. Once being honorably discharged from the army, Donald spent his career with Optical Instrument Laboratories fabricating lens for industrial, military, medical, high tech and electronic applications. When he wasn’t working, he would play the fiddle. He was an avid musician and would often times spend his weekends in Coldsprings, TX playing bluegrass with other musicians.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmit and Ruby, son Ted Tate, siblings, Bill Everitt, Burt Everitt, Kathleen Everitt, Kenneth Everitt and Lelah Everitt. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Carolyn Everitt, brother Bob Everitt, children Dean Everitt, Michael Kowis (Marilyn), and William Kowis (Joanne), grandchildren, Johnathan D. Everitt, Dixie Alexandra Everitt (Tim Jowers), Meghan Everitt, Michael James Kowis (Lorena), Wade Kowis (Stephanie), Samantha Kowis, Kelsey Kowis, Kara Kowis (Ryan), Victoria Kowis, Keith Tate, Kyle Tate, Kevin Tate and Randi Hardin (Ray), great grandchildren, Brynlee, Brielle, Maci, Lexi, Mikaela, Kynzlee, Hailey, Alex, Aubry, and Max.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Garden Park Cemetery.
