Funeral Service for Donald W. Sumberlin, 95 , of Willis will be held Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Metcalf Funeral Home officiated by Rev. JD Andrews of New Waverly Baptist Church, and a Graveside Service will be at 12:30 PM in the Willis Cemetery, Willis, TX. A Visitation will be Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Metcalf Funeral Directors.
Mr. Sumberlin passed away at 95 yr, 3 months, and 8 days in the Willis, Texas at Unlimited Care Cottages. He was born August 22, 1930 in Groesbeck, Texas.
A graduate of Willis High School in 1950, Mr. Sumberlin went on to the US Air Force and served there from 1951 to 1955 after returning from the Air Force he moved to Houston in 1957 to enter the Business World. He was proud of his abilities as an electrician and joined the IBEW LU 716 in 1959 and served there for 66 years. Hunting and Fishing were his passion for most of his life, but he was very active in other areas of interest such as the Baptist Faith at the Willis Baptist Church and the Willis VFW Post in Willis. He was a proud Mason for many years.
Mr. Sumberlin was married to Mildred Huval from 1956 until her death in 1997. He had two children that proceeded him in death Ronald Sumberlin and Vicky Deleon. He is survived by his Special Companion Hazel Broyles; his children, Theresa Dyane McKnight, Kenneth Sumberlin, and Terri Haberman. He leaves behind numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
