Edith Lorraine Davis Hinze was born on December 26, 1940 to Ross Irvin Davis and Helen Odell Stanfield Davis in Waller, Texas. She was the second oldest of seven siblings. She passed away after a long fight with multiple illnesses in Conroe, Texas, on June 15, 2021.
Edith attended and graduated high school at Waller High School and was in the Bulldog marching band. In September of 1960, she met the love of her life, Billy Ray Hinze, and they were married on June 16, 1961. They had two sons, Kenneth and Keith, and one adopted daughter, Jennifer. She loved her family and all of her animals, always looking forward to family get togethers and her gospel music. She was a Cub Scout den mother, and a Girl Scout troop leader. She was a Sunday school teacher, a band chaperone, and a licensed day care provider for over 35 years. She also loved playing the accordion and crocheting. She passed away one day before their 60th wedding anniversary.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ross Davis and Odell Davis, son Ken Hinze, sisters Peggy Becker, Hellen Madsen, and brother Irvin Davis. Survived by her husband Bill Hinze, son Keith Hinze and fiancé Jaime Wilson and daughter Emilie Wilson, daughter Jen Martin, daughter-in-law Mona Hinze, daughter-in-law Joy Beneaugh, grandsons Christopher Hinze and wife Bailey, Micah Hinze, Isaiah Hinze, and two great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Linda Parker and husband Johnie, Wanda McGrew and husband Steve, brother Ricky Davis and wife Felecia, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Edith “Edie” Hinze will be held at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 2:00pm with a visitation starting at 1:00pm prior to service. Interment will follow service at Garden Park Cemetery.
