Elaine Chance

Elaine was born in Conroe, Texas on April 27th, 1953. She graduated from Conroe High School in May of 1971. Following high school, she obtained her cosmetology license but forewent her career in order to raise her family.

Elaine was married to Jackie W. Chance Sr. on June 8th, 1972. They were married fifty-two years. She will be known and remembered by many in her community from her extensive involvement at schools, girl and boy scouts, and as a loyal friend to many.

Elaine was a devoted family woman. No one who met her will forget her passion for her family. She adored especially her grand and great grandchildren. She was very protective of her loved ones and held high pride in their accomplishments. In her free time, Elaine loved puzzles especially her daily crosswords and game shows.

Elaine is survived by her spouse Jackie Wayne Chance Sr., her mother Gussie Wells, siblings; Bobby Gates and spouse Vickie Gates, Marleane Gates and Jeanne Fay, children; Jackie Chance Jr. and spouse Jacqueline Carter, Janet Franklin and spouse Dwayne Franklin, Michael Galan and spouse Traci Smith, Cristina Chance, grandchildren; Mark Galan and spouse Paige Galan, Kaytlynn Galan, Zachary Galan and spouse Pamela Galan, Allison Chance, Cheyenne Franklin, David Franklin, Aiden McCuller, Cierra Franklin, Alexander Galan, Ashlynn Clarkson, Aimee Chance, Zachary Hammon, Jaseari Steele, and Asher Chance, great grandchildren; Priscilla Coleman, Nicholas Coleman, Sophia Gonzalez, Claire Galan, Camila Gonzalez, Eleanor Galan, Amelia Galan, Ryler Galan and Lucas Galan, and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins and other family and friends.

Elaine is preceded in death by her sibling Billy John Gates, father Bobby Gates Sr. and spouse Jeannie Gates, father-in-law Cecil Chance and spouse Irene Chance, grandparents Oscar Gates and spouse Lucinda Gates, William T. Wells and spouse Gurtie Jane Wells, nephew Ryan Gates and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation for Elaine will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas. A graveside service and interment will occur Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Freeman Cemetery, Conroe, Texas.
