Flora Brown Manahan, 88, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2018. She was born on September 12, 1929 to Alfred and Bessie Brown. Flora (Flo) attended elementary and high school in Grapeland, Texas. She attended Southwestern Business University and graduated as an accountant. She worked for many companies; she loved her job wherever she worked. In 1950 she met the love of her life, William E. Manahan, Jr. (Bill) and they were married June 9, 1951. Flo loved the Lord and loved helping people. They had two lovely daughters, Kathleen Manahan Pool who lives in Wichita, Kansas and Suzanne Manahan Smith who lives in Conroe, Texas. Two grandchildren Bethany Pool Beahm and husband Adam, and Taylor Pool and wife Ruth who are missionaries in Germany; two great- grandchildren, Emelyn Beahm and Camden Beahm; sister; Shirley Kyrish and husband Jerry; brother, Alfred Brown and wife Glenda. Flo loved her girls and grand babies. Flo was preceded in death by her parents, James Alfred Brown and Bessie Mae Brown; husband, William Edward Manahan Jr., and sister, Mary Hall. They moved to Conroe, Texas in 1997 and joined the First Baptist Church. Bill passed away in 2006. God has been good to Flo. She volunteered one day a week at the First Baptist Church to do what God had called her to do. She loved her Sunday School Class, the Encouragers, and had many friends. God has called her home where she will be forever joined with her husband Bill. Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 6-8pm. Graveside service will be Friday, June 15, 2018 in the Garden Park Cemetery at 9am. Celebration of Life service will be Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11am at the First Baptist Church in Conroe with Dr. Jeff Berger and Rev. Merle Blado officiating with a reception to follow.
