

Frederick Ernest Dexter, 93, passed away on February 7, 2013, in Conroe, Texas. He was born on September 1, 1919 in Lamonia, Iowa to William Russell Dexter and Mary Blanche DeLong. Fred grew up in Michigan, attended Okemas High School and studied engineering at Michigan State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. After college, he was employed for several years with Dow Corning in Michigan, where he met his future wife. Fred and Patricia Marie Weinberg wed in 1951, in Angola, Indiana, and were happily married for 61 years. In 1953, Fred and Pat moved to Pasadena, Texas, where Fred began working at Goodyear in Houston, Texas, became a Licensed Professional Engineer, and retired after 28 years with Goodyear. After retirement, Fred and Pat traveled, made their home in Willis, Texas, became loyal members of First Baptist Church Conroe, while enjoying the fellowship, opportunities for service and support provided by their Senior Adult Sunday School class, eagerly participating in all activities. Fred is survived by his spouse, Patricia of Willis, Texas, four sons: Russell Dexter and wife Debra of Deer Park, Texas, Kenneth Dexter of Plano, Texas, Steven Dexter and wife Diane of Houston, Texas, Edward Dexter and wife Nancy of Spring, Texas, one sister, Mary Aileen Young of Dunnellon, Florida, eleven grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. Many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends also survive him.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Paul, Hale, John, and David Dexter, and one daughter, Nancy Lynn Dexter. Fred was loved and adored by his family and all who knew him.
