Gary was born May 24, 1953, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of Rosalie (Rosie) Bell Sanchez, and his father, Raymond (Ramon)Anaya Horton. He would then be left to the charge of his great Aunt Pilar until age 11 where he went to live and grew up at the New Mexico Boys Ranch in Belen, NM until the age of 18. He was a graduate of Belen High School 1972, and a graduate of Criss Business College in 1974 with a degree in Full Charge Bookkeeping and would utilize his skills as a bookkeeper and accountant working as a business office manager at ABB C-E (Combustion Engineering) Alstom Power Integrated C-E Services 1972 until he retired 2005.
Gary loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hiking, traveling by road trips, watching movies, reading books, the Dallas Cowboys, watching golf, old western movies, war movies and documenting family history as well as American History, and loved meeting up with family and old friends as well as meeting new friends, and he loved and good food.
He had a love for America, and the American Government. He was a proud member of the AMAC (The Association of Mature American Citizens) (a group that protected the conservative interests and perspectives of the aging American and problems that seniors face in today’s world). He was a patriot and a proud Conservative Republican. He was also a member of AA for many years.
Gary is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sister Teresa, brother Alex, infant daughter Tracy Karol Horton, infant granddaughter Emily Rae Middleton, and various relatives.
Gary is survived by his daughter Norabeth Rachel Middleton and husband Raymond, grandsons Raymond Jr, Noah, Nathan, Andrew, His sister Antoinette and her children, his Nephew Dave Montoya Sr (who was like a son to him), and wife Deborah, their children David Montoya Jr, Luke, Isabelle, and a slew of many, many family other members.
A funeral service for Gary will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, in Conroe, TX. Following the funeral service will there be a graveside service in Garden Park Cemetery.
After service there will be a reception.
