Gerrie graduated from Erie Academy High School. She attended the Erie Center University of Pittsburgh and completed her degree at the University of Pittsburgh attaining her degree Bachelor of Arts. She then attended the Pittsburgh University School of Law for two years.
At the University, she met Elmer “Bud” Kincaid and they were married on September 12, 1942 in Logansport, Indiana. They had one son, Patrick Davis Kincaid, born February 18, 1946. He graduated from High School in Granite City, Illinois, and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Chemistry from the University of Houston. After retirement, they moved to Conroe. “Bud” died in 2003, and she moved to Assisted Living where she lived until her death.
Gerrie was an avid reader and was particularly interested in political science and world politics. Due to macular degeneration she was unable to read, but still kept up with what is going on in the nation and world by radio and television. She enjoyed discussing politics and the world situations with her friends.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Conroe and many of her friends from the church and the community visited her regularly. She celebrated her 100th birthday with many who came to congratulate her and she received a resolution from Brandon Creighton, State Senator, congratulating her on her birthday. Mayor of Conroe, Toby Powell, presented her with a Proclamation from the City of Conroe designating the day as “Geraldine Ruth Sanner Kincaid Day”.
She is survived by her long-time friends and confidants, Marilyn Coyne and Janie Kobes, as well as many others who will miss her conversations and great insights on how to live a well-considered life
