

James Fontenot, 90 , of Conroe TX, passed away on April 17, 2014, following a long battle with Dementia. A small intimate Service will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, May 2, 2014 @ 11:15am. James was born in Louisiana on March 27, 1924. Married his wife Anna Lois (Savoy) on June 19, 1949. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. James was a humble and proud Navy Veteran for 20 years. Upon retirement from the Navy, he owned and operated a family barber shop with his wife and youngest son. At the age of 72, decided to put his clippers away and enjoy some time fishing on Lake Conroe. He enjoyed most of all having his kids and grand kids spend countless weekends at their home on the lake. James is survived by his wife, 3 sons and 2 daughters. Ron (Georgia), Keith, Robert, Julie Poynter (Dee Martin) all of Texas and Tina Bergman of Michigan. 10
Grand Children and 11 great grand children, brother Willis Fontenot of Port Authur and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to: Wounded Warrior Project www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org or your local American Legion Post www.legion.org for our Homeless Veterans.
